Developed as a replacement for both the KC-135 Stratotanker and KC-10 Extender, the KC-46A Pegasus program has been a trouble-filled, expensive mess. However, the aircraft has finally entered the USAF inventory, though it still has operational limitations. One of the first units to get the aircraft is the 157th Air Mobility Wing of the New Hampshire Air National Guard at Pease ANGB in Portsmouth, NH.
