In the mid 1980s, Piedmont Airlines regional network, known as the Piedmont Commuter System, added the BAe Jetstream J31. 47 aircraft were operated by two airlines15 with CC Air and 32 with Jetstream International. The Jetstream fleet would pass on to the USAir Express network in August 1989 with the assimilation of the Piedmont into USAir.
